At Chitran, every piece is painted by hand — individually, intentionally, and with great care. Because each garment is a one-of-a-kind work of art created specifically for you, we do not accept returns or exchanges under standard circumstances. We encourage you to read this policy carefully before placing your order, and to reach out to us with any questions beforehand — we are always happy to help.


1. No Return & No Exchange Policy

All sales at Chitran are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges once an order has been placed and confirmed.

This is because:

  • Every piece is hand-painted to order and is completely unique
  • Once a garment is created, it cannot be resold or reassigned to another customer
  • The time, skill, and premium materials invested in each piece cannot be recovered

We strongly encourage all customers to review product descriptions, fabric details, dimensions, and sizing information carefully before purchasing. If you have any doubts or questions about a piece, please contact us at Chitran.thebrand@gmail.com before placing your order — we will gladly assist you.


2. Damaged or Defective Products

While we take every precaution to ensure your order reaches you in perfect condition, we understand that issues can occasionally arise during transit or fulfilment. If you receive a product that is:

  • Visibly damaged due to shipping
  • Defective in workmanship (e.g. paint error, fabric flaw, stitching issue)
  • Incorrectly sent (wrong item or wrong size from what was ordered)

Please contact us within 48 Hours days of receiving your order at Chitran.thebrand@gmail.com with the following:

  • Your order number
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photographs of the damage or defect (including the packaging if damaged in transit)

Claims raised after 48hrs of receiving of delivery will unfortunately not be considered.


3. Non-Returnable Items

The following are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund under any circumstances:

  • All hand-painted garments (sarees, anarkalis, dupattas, couture pieces) — as each is uniquely created
  • Custom or personalised orders made to specific requirements
  • Sale or discounted items purchased during promotional periods
  • Items that have been worn, washed, altered, or tampered with in any way
  • Items where the original tags have been removed

4. Return Shipping Costs

As we do not accept returns under standard circumstances, return shipping is not applicable for regular orders.

In the rare event that we request a damaged or defective item to be returned to us for assessment, Chitran will bear the cost of return shipping. We will share a prepaid shipping label or reimburse the shipping cost upon submission of a receipt. Customers are asked not to return any item without prior written confirmation from our team — unauthorised returns will not be accepted.


5. Cancellations

Once an order is confirmed and payment is received, cancellations are not accepted as your piece enters the hand-painting process immediately. If you wish to cancel before your order has been processed, please contact us at Chitran.thebrand@gmail.com as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Cancellations are at the sole discretion of Chitran.
